Sugar Valley Watershed Association

The Sugar Valley Watershed Association (SVWA) is located in Fishing Creek Watershed, tributary to Bald Eagle Creek, tributary to West Branch Susquehanna River. The PADEP Chapter 93 water quality designation for Fishing Creek is High Quality Coldwater Fishes. The PA Fish and Boat Commission manages Fishing Creek as a Class A naturally reproducing wild trout stream. The watershed association has been very involved in maintaining both of those designations. The primary objective of the SVWA is to educate and partner with our community and to help our landowners, residents, and visitors understand how they affect the ecological integrity and quality of life and further protect and enhance the biological, chemical, and social qualities of the Fishing Creek watershed.
